Description
The origin of this car goes way back to 1975 in the states. In 1978 Ted Tracey and Peter Bruin went to the States and purchased the car of Lenny Gonzell in San Francisco. Ted ran it as the "Yellow Bird" car in the USA.
Back in NZ, Ted won the 79 NZ Championship in the car which was painted red with No 1 on the tail tank as Ted had won the championship the previous year. Ted won again in 81, 84 and this time with No 5 on the tail tank.
In 1982 Ted won the lapper at Western Springs where Sleepy Trip was 2nd.
The car was sold in 1985 to Graeme Hartnell who owned it for 23 years before selling it to its current late owner Colin Lea in 2008.
The car is sporting Teds original 2480cc Autocraft engine.
